Welcome and Support Your Area Directors:

Welcome and Support Your Area Directors: Building a Stronger Toastmasters Community

Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,

As your Club Growth Director, I want to extend my heartfelt encouragement to all our clubs as we embark on a new year filled with opportunities for growth and excellence. One of the key elements that will contribute to our collective success is the relationship we build with our incoming Area Directors. These dedicated individuals will be visiting your clubs, bringing fresh perspectives and invaluable support to help us all achieve our goals.

Why Welcome Your Area Directors?

The role of an Area Director is vital in our mission to empower clubs. They are here to support us, share insights, and help us navigate challenges. Whether they have been part of Toastmasters for years or are just beginning their journey, they are eager to contribute and grow alongside us. Welcoming them warmly into our clubs sets a positive tone for collaboration and mutual support.

Our District Mission: Building and Supporting Excellence

Our district mission is clear: we build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence. This mission is a two-way street. Just as Area Directors are here to assist us, it is equally important for us to support them. These members have taken on additional responsibilities, stepping beyond their home clubs to develop their leadership and communication skills. By embracing them, we strengthen the entire Toastmasters community.

How to Welcome Your Area Directors

  1. Be Gracious and Patient: Understand that Area Directors are learning and growing in their roles, just like all of us. Show them grace and patience as they get to know your club and its unique dynamics.
  2. Communicate Openly: Keep lines of communication open. Share your club’s successes and challenges with them. Their purpose is to support and guide, and effective communication is key to this relationship.
  3. Encourage and Engage: Encourage your members to engage with Area Directors. Their visits are an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn and grow. Show enthusiasm for their presence and the support they offer.
  4. Reach Out: Proactively reach out to welcome them. A simple message or a warm greeting can make a significant difference. Let them know that your club values their efforts and is excited to work together.

A Community of Mutual Growth

Remember, the Toastmasters journey is about mutual growth and support. By welcoming our Area Directors with open arms, we reinforce the collaborative spirit that makes our organization so special. Together, we can achieve excellence, one meeting at a time.

Thank you for your dedication to Toastmasters and for your commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for all members.

Yours in service and growth,

Nic Patterson
