On July 14, 2023, I was fortunate to witness Darren LaCroix, the Toastmasters International 2001 World Champion of Public Speaking, at Lakeland Toastmasters in Lakeland, Florida. He unveiled his insights on crafting “Unforgettable Presentations- 3 Secrets to Make Your Message Stick!”

His presentation was truly captivating. It reminded me that embracing my true passions can lead to extraordinary achievements.
I was inspired as Darren connected with the audience and shared his life story.
From a young age, he aspired to bring joy through laughter, but his shyness and lack of humor held him back. High school days felt like an existence in the shadows.
He sought a different path, aiming for a practical dream – becoming a business owner. However, the initial attempt was met with failure. For more than a decade, he was confined to a cubicle.
A pivotal question rekindled his original dream. With courage and determination, he embraced his true passion. Years of relentless effort followed. And then, after nine years, the stage became his canvas.
In front of an audience of 2,000, he incorporated laughter effortlessly, finally connecting with his dormant gift. The outcome was remarkable, propelling him to the esteemed title of Toastmasters International World Champion of Public Speaking.
Darren’s story caused me to examine the things I had placed on the bookshelf of life because they weren’t happening as fast as I had hoped.
My passion for writing again has been ignited. My dream of elevating my speaking platform has been encouraged and enriched by his kind words.
