Frequently Asked Questions
First, browse our roster of speakers and available topic categories. This will give you an understanding of what presentations and speakers we offer.
Next, complete the “Speaker Request” form including pertinent information about your event. Once you have submitted the form, you will be contacted to confirm topic requirement and speaker availability, and then connected with the presenter to directly manage the remaining logistics.
Once the speaker accepts the invitation, we will notify you of his or her acceptance and provide contact details. You will then work directly with the speaker to handle the logistics of your event. While we will use our best efforts to secure a speaker for your event, there may be occasions when we are not able to fill a request, in which we will notify you promptly.
You will work directly with your selected speaker should any problems arise. In the event a replacement speaker is needed, Speakers Bureau Chair, Edith Tiencken, will work with you, making her best efforts to accommodate you.
Absolutely. We encourage communication. Our speakers will be available to speak with you directly after the selection has been made.
This depends. Please check with your selected speaker for their consent.
To secure a speaker and to allow for their best preparation, we request a minimum of six weeks notice. Naturally, the more advance notice you provide, the better your chance of securing a speaker.
It depends. Our speakers are organized into three levels, reflecting their experience and expertise. So, although we are a nonprofit organization and offer many presentations to the community as a public service, all presenters require travel expenses paid, with our most experienced Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) possibly requiring some compensation. 50 percent of compensations are donated back to District 84 Toastmasters Speakers Bureau.
