DISTRICT 84 CELEBRATES YOU!
On November 11th, District 84 held our first ever “District 84 Celebrates YOU!” event! And what a great event it was! With close to 75 people in attendance, we celebrated our Toastmaster members with special honors, awards, gifts and accolades. We experienced an abundance of delicious food, music, fun and games. The weather was perfect, and we all enjoyed a glorious afternoon with our Toastmasters “family” and friends.
Thank you, Distinguished Toastmaster Richard Hoar, for sharing an amazing and heartfelt speech honoring our Military. With decorations and attendees wearing colors of red, white and blue, it added that special touch on Veteran’s Day.

To show our appreciation for the dedication and service of the District Leadership team for the 2022-2023 program year, we proudly thanked them with the Hall of Fame Awards.
Many clubs were given ribbons for reaching their goals so far for this program year. And a very special CONGRATULATIONS to our exceptional award recipients: Cathy Gorgenson for receiving the Area Director of the Year Award, Donald Toldson, who was smiling ear to ear as he accepted the Division Director the Year award, and to a very surprised John Morrow, who was honored with the Toastmaster of the Year award! Cathy was not in attendance, but as soon as she received the message that she won, she texted me with a joyful and astounding THANK YOU!

Our DJ Extraordinaire, Jerome Kalizs, provided music to listen to, sing along with and even dance to! (A party isn’t a party without the Electric Slide!)

As this event was an HPL project, I would also like to thank my HPL team, Barbara Amato and Deb Wilde, for making my job a lot easier. Their input and assistance was instrumental in accomplishing this event. Thank you, also to all those who helped set up, brought food and drinks, and helped clean up. I’m proud to say that it was a very SUCCESFUL event! My hope is that this will continue to be a District annual event every fall.
Several of us went to Olive Garden afterwards for a fun “post-toasties” dinner afterwards. Thank you to those of you who joined us!
Pictures of this amazing afternoon are included for your viewing pleasure.
